- Spokesperson, Graduate Student Union. While I was a graduate student at Stony Brook University. As a result of organizing, we got health insurance for the first time ever and the first raise in seven years.
- Internal Auditor, United Savings Bank, San Francisco.
After finishing college, I worked for a savings and loans that had just been taken over by FSLIC*. I saw first-hand how deregulation benefitted the very few at the expense of the many. I will bring these skills and experiences to address the challenging facing balancing our budget while maintaining our safety net and growing our economy. - Ph.D. in Social Psychology (with a minor in quantitative methods) from Stony Brook University.

- * FSLIC & deregulation: This was an instance where low risk-low return money was put into high-risk high-return investments. And eventually, those high-risk, high return investments went bad and the customers and taxpayers footed the bill. We just experienced a similar situation and I predict we will see a crisis in the student loan sector coming soon.
